Doc Wong Scuba Diving Pages

Welcome to my scuba site. On this site I'll share with you my various experiences diving in beautiful Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur and other locations.

The first 10 years of diving included many many dives in Northern California, North of San Francisco and in the Monterey area. Then school, profession and family took precedence with only occasional diving during my warm water vacations. The 2 years ago I decided to get back into Monterey diving. I found an incredible community of very talented divers and due to their "bad" influences am doing deeper, longer and much more technical dives.

Being absent from our Monterey waters for 15 years, my first few dives left me wondering: "Where are all the fish?"  Yes, the fish population is about 10% of what I experienced before!

So I started Northern California Oceans Foundation with the purpose of sinking environmentally cleaned ex-US military ships creating a fun place to dive, improving our tourism economy and improving our ocean environments!

For information on creating Living Reefs from Warships, go to: www.oceansfoundation.org and www.cs2r.org for more information on that!

July 2007 Diving in Key Largo - Spiegel Grove (510' ship wreck!)

Diving in Key Largo is an experience you don't want to miss if the idea of diving a 510' long vessel gets you excited. I have shots of going down some dark hallways on this one.
